The perfect virus immunization for your computer – Part 3 – TrendMicro System Cleaner

We’ve featured so far two products for securing computers, Kaspersky Internet Security and PC Tools Spyware Doctor. These two products are very helpful if your operating system is working fine. But what if your computer is damaged badly by a virus or a worm and you can’t even start your Microsoft Windows in “Normal Mode” or that virus is not letting you install applications.

In order to scan your computer with Trend Micro System Cleaner, you have to download sysclean.com and download the latest pattern file from Trend Micro’s website. Extract the Zip archive of the pattern file and put the the two files on the same directory and execute sysclean.com.

Now, Trend Micros Sytem Cleaner windows should appear on the screen. Just click on scan to scan all your files or click on advanced to choose more advanced options.

Once Sysclean finished scanning your computer an log file will be generated. You can click on “View Log” to see the scan result.

Advantages:

1- Can work on any environment: it doesn’t matter how hard the virus damaged your system; Sysclean can work in “Normal Mode” and “Safe Mode”.

2- Free: You don’t have to pay anything to use Trend Micro System Cleaner. Just download the sysclean.com and the pattern file and you are ready to scan your computer.

3- No Installation or Internet connection are needed: Once you have downloaded the two file just execute Sysclean.com and you have an antivirus scanner on your machine.

Disadvantages:

1- Not effective on all virus types: eventhough it can work in safe mode, sometimes it doesn’t remove all viruses like memory residence viruses but in most cases it can remove the infection completely.

2- Slow scanning: It will take long time to scan all the files in your computer. Esspeciall, if you have hundred thousands of files.

3- Manual Updates: Sysclean doesn’t give you the feature of downloading the latest pattern file automatically from TrendMiro’s site. You have to do this manually.

4- Not updated from long time: Sysclean.com is not updated since 2006 but it’s still making wonders.
