This morning, I noticed that MSN Messenger is not working also I could run some videos on Windows Media Player 11. Anyway, when I checked my event log I got this error message:
“The description for Event ID ( 1000 ) in Source ( Windows Live Messenger ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: msnmsgr.exe, 8.5.1302.1018, 4717a53b, ddraw.dll, 5.3.2600.2180, 411096a0, 0, 00009751.”

I think I got this error from a failed Windows Update Operation. However, the solution for this issue is really simple. I noticed that the error message is referring to “ddraw.dll”. So, I downloaded another version from dll-files.com and copied it to “c:\Windows\System32″ and everything worked normaly.
